State Basketball Tournament

Special Olympics Montana’s State Basketball Tournament is a Fall Favorite in Montana! This tournament brings over 700 Special Olympics Montana athletes and Unified Partners to display their skills in 160+ basketball games. State Basketball welcomes 85 teams from all over Montana as well as coaches and chaperones. Nearly 150 local volunteers help to organize the tournament and diligently work to make the tournament a top-notch competition filled with memorable moments.

The annual Bowling Tournament of Special Olympics Montana is one of the favorites of athletes and fans alike. This tournament is held at alleys across the state but real-time scores are kept electronically so divisioned athletes are competing against athletes of similar skills and other like factors, regardless of location. 250+ athletes, coaches and volunteers come together in Montana communities for companionship through sport.

Special Olympics Montana’s State Summer Games is not only one of Montan’s largest sporting events but it is the premier event for Special Olympics Montana where athletes from all over the state converge to show off their talents in 7 Olympics sports.
Over 700 athletes, 150 Unified Partners compete in athletics, bocce, swimming, golf, gymnastics, soccer, and cycling at the Summer Games. Roughly 800 volunteers are needed to support these games as well as countless sponsors who give generously to make sure these athletes can compete at the highest level.

Montana is sending 16 Athletes, 5 Coaches, 2 Unified Partners, and 1 Athlete Coach to this year’s USA Games in Orlando, FL!
June 5-12, 2022, the 2022 Special Olympics USA Games will unite more than 5,500 athletes and coaches from all 50 states and the Caribbean and 125,000 spectators during one of the country’s most cherished sporting events.
We all have reasons to shine. For Special Olympics athletes, one of those reasons is the love of sport. Special Olympics athletes display remarkable abilities not only on the field, but in all areas of life. Montana athlete, Gail Anderson to represent Team USA at World Winter Games in Kazan Russia.
It is expected that the Special Olympics World Winter Games Kazan 2022 will bring together around 2,917 delegates (athletes, partners, coaches, and officials) from 97 countries, 2,250 volunteers, 1,090 honored guests, 2,000 member families and up to 700 media representatives.
