Special Olympics has created a four-part video series celebrating the achievements of individuals with intellectual disabilities and the power of one person to create an environment of inclusion and acceptance.
Each of the four short videos have a specific theme and corresponding discussion guide designed for use at the Elementary, Middle and High School levels. Each video concludes with a Call to Action that empowers students to support Special Olympics.
We invite all schools to join us in celebrating Special Olympics by participating in the School Enrichment Program and challenging students to build communities of respect, acceptance and dignity in their schools.
- Review the School Enrichment Teacher’s Guide and find the section for your grade level.
- Identify a class to participate and set up a time every month to watch the video and participate in discussions.
- Follow the Teacher’s Guide as it prompts pauses and questions for the class.
- Use the videos as a starting point for classroom discussions and encourage your students to support Special Olympics.
