Jared Redeen started Special Olympics in 2005. Jared recently moved from Great Falls to Missoula and now participates on the Missoula Diamondbacks team. He is dedicated to being active, healthy, and a successful athlete. He has trained and competed in basketball, bowling, equestrian barrel racing & working trails, gymnastics, swimming, golf, and snowshoeing for a total of 44 seasons and competitions. During the challenges of the pandemic, he stood out by thriving and excelling in virtual fitness classes. He dedicates himself to physical activity daily and most recently he has discovered a passion for yoga.
Jared is dedicated to promoting and advocating for Special Olympics Montana through his role as a trained Athlete Leader. He served as an LETR Athlete Ambassador from 2018 to 2023. He has been actively involved in various fundraising initiatives, selling raffle tickets, participating in the LETR Polar Plunge, and helping officers at Tip-A-Cop. From the words of a local officer, this athlete always shows up for law enforcement. When he is not competing, he can be found delivering gratitude to local officers and agencies thanking them for their service while spreading the word of the Law Enforcement Torch Run. He is a true ambassador of both SOMT and LETR. Our recipient has also graduated from the local Police Citizens Academy.
Congratulations to Jared Redeen, 2024 Athlete of the Year.
