President and CEO

Special Olympics Montana (SOMT) is seeking a dynamic leader for the position of President and CEO. The President and CEO is responsible for strategic leadership, operational management, fundraising, budget/financial management, and advocacy for Special Olympics Montana.  

 As the CEO, his/her primary function is to guide and direct the Program in accordance with the standards, policies and procedures set forth by Special Olympics Inc. and the Special Olympics Montana Board of Directors. The CEO reports directly to the Special Olympics Montana Board of Directors and Board Chair and shall maintain a close working relationship with the Chairperson.  

 Candidates should have a genuine passion for Special Olympics Montana’s mission and the vision, skills, expertise and drive to lead the organization to the next level – improving athlete health, fitness and performance and expanding the engagement of the greater community to enhance the inclusion of people with intellectual disabilities. The candidate should have a strong track record of success in revenue creation in one or more non-profit or for-profit organizations.  

 The CEO role is an exempt position and is based out of the SOMT Headquarters, Great Falls, Montana. CEO must reside in Montana, but is not required to reside in Great Falls. Frequent in state and occasional out of state travel required.

Served by more than 20 staff and annual revenue of nearly $3MM, approximately 3000 athletes with intellectual disabilities are served by Special Olympics Montana’s extensive core of volunteers through a variety of community and school settings.
