(Global Messenger, Gary Fuller, shares his story during the 2015 State Summer Games Press Conference)
Special Olympics Athlete Leadership is training program that allows athletes to explore Special Olympics participation in roles off the field of play. Such participation might come in the form of an athlete serving on the Board of Directors, an Area Management Team, or as a spokesperson, team captain, coach, official, or media specialist.
Athletes in Montana have been training as Global Messengers for the past five years. Global Messenger training continues to be available. As a result, we now have a growing team of experienced and enthusiastic athlete speakers statewide who speak regularly to a wide variety of groups and organizations.
To see if a Global Messenger is available to speak at your event, call the Special Olympics Montana office at 406-216-5327and ask for the Outreach Director, Nancy Undercofler.
