After three years of limited and modified Summer Games, the much-anticipated
Special Olympics Montana State a Summer Games returned to full participation this year in Bozeman. Approximately 600 athletes and 150 unified partners competed in seven sports over the three day event.
Due to the limitations of the past few years, the 2023 State Summer Games was essentially the first and final Games of the 3-year rotation. Sports venues were primarily on MSU Bozeman’s campus (bocce, track and field, soccer, and cycling), but were also held at Eagle Mount (swimming), Bozeman Swim Center (swimming), Lone Mountain Gymnastics (gymnastics), and Bridger Creek Golf Course (golf).
In addition to competition, attendees of the State Summer Games also enjoyed a concert by singer and songwriter Stephanie Quayle, Olympic Village, Dance Carnival, and a Healthy Athlete event.
