27 May 2020 MTN Chevy Raffle Winner Claims Prize.
Special Olympics Montana athlete Ben Moyer had no idea that his family’s life was about to change when he sold his mom, Karen, an MTN Chevy raffle ticket. On May 15, 2020, the winning ticket was drawn at City Motors in Great Falls. A message was left on Karen’s phone, letting her know she won. When she heard the message, she began to cry and her phone blew-up with numerous texts from friends wanting to make sure she knew the exciting news. On May 21, Ben, his parents and three brothers traveled from Helena to claim their brand-new Chevy Silverado.
“It couldn’t have been a better gift, we’re truly blessed,” Moyer said. “Last year was Ben’s first in Special Olympics, and it was just such an incredible experience for our whole family. So, this is just the cherry on top.”
Thanks to City Motors Company, Denny Menholt Chevrolet and the Montana Television Network, the raffle fundraiser for Special Olympics Montana is in its 26th year, and though numbers were down slightly due to the COVID-19 pandemic the final results are still impressive: 87,004 tickets were sold, raising $472,672 for the organization.
Karen asked Ben what his favorite part of Special Olympics is and he replied, “Winning!”
