06 Mar Great Falls Community Respect Rally – March 7 at 12 pm
Spread the Word to End the Word™ is an ongoing effort by Special Olympics, Best Buddies International and supporters across the globe to inspire respect and acceptance, while raising the consciousness of society about the hurtful effects of the R-word. On March 7, 2018, fans worldwide will take a stand to change the conversation in our local schools and communities by eliminating the derogatory use of the word from everyday speech and encourage others to do the same.
Everyday young people, as well as family members and advocates are creating change in schools and communities. Along with urging us to pledge to end the use of the R-word, this campaign promotes the inclusion and acceptance of people with intellectual disabilities and promotes a new R-word…RESPECT. To find out more information about the R-word Campaign you can visit www.r-word.org.
Join Special Olympics Montana, Easter Seals-Goodwill, Eagle Mount, and Quality Life Concepts at the University of Providence, McLaughlin Center (outside) as people gather together for a Respect Rally from 12:00 to 1:00 pm. Hear firsthand how hurtful the R-word can be, and how it affects the lives of our athletes, clients, students, and family members.
In addition to the rally being held in Great Falls, a number of other Respect Rallies are being held statewide.
