Special Olympics Montana is proud to announce the Dennis and Phyllis Washington Foundation, premier sponsor and year-round mission partner, has awarded an additional $100,000 to supplement the recent 2016 and upcoming 2017 State Summer Games in Missoula. This additional gift was provided to ensure the success of the 2017 games and increase the opportunities for athletes to participate. “We are privileged to support Special Olympics Montana athletes who train for life through sports. Their indomitable spirit and resolve to never give up is an inspiration to all of us,” said Honorary Co-Chair of the 2015-17 State Summer Games, Phyllis Washington.
This additional gift boosts annual cash support to $125,000 for each of the 2016 and 2017 State Summer Games from the Washington Foundation. As one of the State Summer Games premier sponsors, the Washington Foundation also underwrites the Families & Friends BBQ at the Grant Creek Ranch, use of the Silver Cloud train, athlete souvenir items at Opening Ceremony, and scores of employees who volunteer their time and talent in preparation for and during State Summer Games.
“The Dennis and Phyllis Washington Foundation has been a generous and faithful fan and sponsor in countless ways for more than 30 years. Through their philanthropy, we are changing lives and making a meaningful difference for athletes, their families, and entire communities all across Montana. We are deeply grateful for the Washington Foundation’s extraordinary support,” stated Special Olympics Montana President/CEO, Bob Norbie.
