Montana's Special Olympics athletes give it their all in Shanghai
(Shanghai, China,
8 Oct 2007) Four Special Olympics Montana
athletes are making friends and breaking boundaries at the 2007
Special Olympics World Summer Games. Julie
Bertelsen of Bozeman, Stuart
Brownlow of Helena, Tawny
Gray of Alberton and Michelle
Hardy of Billings left
Montana
on September 26, arriving in
Shanghai
,
China
on September 28. They will return
home at 12:28pm Saturday October 13 at the
Bozeman
International
Airport
.
Montana
's athletes began competing on October 6. Michelle
Hardy and Stuart Brownlow completed their preliminaries in
Athletics today and will compete in finals Oct. 9-11.
Stuart Brownlow will compete in 1500m run and 3000m run.
Michelle Hardy will compete in 100 meter run and 200 meter run.
Equestrian
athletes Tawny Gray and Julie Bertelsen have already completed one
of three events. Julie
Bertelsen won the Gold Medal in the working Trails
competition and Tawny Gray
placed fourth in the Prix Caprilli event. Both
Tawny and Julie still have the Dressage and English Equitation
events coming up in the next few days.
