Conference will send off Montana athletes as they travel to
Shanghai, China to compete in the Special Olympics World Summer Games

After months of training and
preparation, Special Olympics Montana athletes are finally on their way to the
most spectacular sports event happening this year – the 2007 Special
Olympics World Summer Games in
Shanghai
,
China
– the first ever in
Asia
. Four athletes from across
Montana
will join nearly 400 athletes from every state and the
District of Columbia
and 150 coaches and managers in
Los Angeles
September 26 before Team
USA
departs for
China
the next day. When teams assemble
in
Shanghai
, 165 countries will be represented.

Rivers Communications is the Premier Sponsor of
Montana
’s delegation to the World Games. 3
Rivers staff will bid farewell and good luck to the athletes at the September
21 Press Conference. The Press
Conference will feature speakers
Bob Norbie
, President/CEO of Special Olympics Montana; Steve Krogue, Acting General
Manager of 3 Rivers Communications; and Special Olympics Montana athlete and
World Games competitor Julie Bertelson. All
four Special Olympics Montana athletes who will be competing at the World
Games in
China
